Another great week’s carp fishing at our exclusive French venue with 8 x 30’s to 39lb landed.

This week we welcomed back yet another group of Beausoleil regulars who’d brought along a new member for his first carp fishing trip to France. In these circumstances the rule book states that the guys with more experience will do well and the new guy will struggle a little at first but it will all come good in the end. Well, you can throw that particular idea clean out of the top floor window because it was the new boy that cleaned up! It might be Tony’s first trip to France but he turned out to be a veteran carper who’d been catching carp since the early 80’s (like me). Despite the fact that we’ve had some incredible individual angling results so far this year, Tony raised the bar even higher with a haul of twenty carp to 39lbs including the lake record common of 37lbs and another seven 30’s, amazing stuff! During my mid week visit Tony had already had 15 carp and it was fascinating talking to him about how he was going about his business. The key to his success was baiting strategy and by feeding multiple spots, resting spots and moving things around, Tony had take after take and kept the fish feeding. This is not easy to do and although it wasn’t easy for his mates to watch, it was an impressive piece of angling. So well done mate, nice work, it was a shame that the carp didn’t distribute their favours evenly this week but that, as they say, is fishing. I’m sure the guys will be back for more another year. It was, as always a great pleasure to see them and we’re very glad you like the work that we’ve done and the direction we are taking with the venue.
