Our French carp fishing holiday venue provides a great week’s fishing for French first timers!

This week we welcomed a father & son on their first French carp fishing adventure and what a time they had! We know just how big a deal your first trip to France is and that’s why you’ll find a wealth of information about the venue in the news, blog & on our videos. Like most of our clients, the guys had been looking forward to the trip for many months and had very much enjoyed researching the venue. Tommy had seriously done his homework and was very knowledgeable considering he’d never actually set foot here before. This work stood him and Frankie in excellent stead and during the walk around they outlined the plan that they’d formulated. The plan was very simple, but very effective: setup two camps, one in between the big double and island point and the other in the point swims, then alternate between the two. It worked great and the guys caught steadily all week. Unfortunately they were defeated after an hour long battle with a monster catfish when the 25lb hooklink failed but apart from that all went well with new PB’s all round. Young Frankie, who’s only 15, had three 30’s which is excellent! After some experimentation with particles and pellets, Tommy found the easiest way to consistently catch was to stick with a boilie only approach and the lads got through 14kg of our finest Blue Oyster during their week. The use of hand sharpened hooks was a new technique for them but they did an excellent job and never suffered a single hook pull. They, like me, will never use a hook straight from the packet ever again! It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and I’m sure we’ll be seeing them in the future.
