The perfect carp fishing venue for couples
Beausoleil is a carp fishing paradise for anglers coming to France with their spouse or as a fishing couple. Situated in the Mayenne area of Northern France, it is a beautiful and tranquil 4 acre fishing lake with its own private two-bedroom luxury lodge. From the moment you arrive and walk onto the lawn overlooking the lake, you instantly relax and feel the beauty of Beausoleil take over.
If you want serious carp fishing in beautiful surroundings, Beausoleil will give you total total peace and privacy for your holiday. We don’t live on site so when you close the gates, you know you are in your own private home for the week. Some couples even stay for two weeks in order to disconnect properly from the real world.
And it is a different world. One where you can take the time to recharge the batteries. One where you can enjoy the light and shade of the weather and the sights and sounds of the wildlife. One where you can do as much or as little fishing as you want.
Set in its own private grounds, Beausoleil offers an ideal environment for a couple looking for a serious carp fishing holiday in France with its own accommodation.
There is a small village 5 minutes away with all amenities including bar, boulangerie, pharmacy and a very well stocked village shop.
The lake is lined by a wide variety of mature trees and wildflowers, while abundant wildlife, including kingfishers, woodpeckers and red squirrels, simply add to the delightful environment.
Home from home
The lodge is fully equipped and provides all the comforts you’ll need. If you like cooking, you’ll enjoy the top of the range De Dietrich cooker. If you want to eat out, there are plenty of good options nearby.
The south facing terrace with its outdoor seating and BBQ is ideal for alfresco meals, offering superb views of the grounds and lake. By the lake, you will find a picnic table which is perfect for dinner by the rods.
The lake is set within 7 acres of dazzling rural countryside with a wooded area that provides a haven for birds and wildlife. Get ready to relax in this stunning and peaceful environment.
Plenty of options for a fishing couple
The 4 acre lake has an island and is fed from an inlet stream and springs. It is 9 feet deep at its deepest with an average depth of 5ft. The lake bed is a complicated mix of gravel, silt, clay, sand, silt and rocks. It is feature rich with literally hundreds of spots to target.
Whether you are a solo angler with your spouse or a fishing couple, you have total flexibility in terms of where you fish from, and the freedom to move to where the fish are.
● Carp between 20lbs and 48lbs with an average size of 30lbs+
● Catfish between 50lbs and 118lbs with an average size of 85lbs+
The Point swims are very popular if there are 2 of you fishing. It’s the largest swim and from it you can cover the entire length of the lake. The gite is just 100 yards away. You can drive your vehicle right behind the swim to make unloading and reloading the car very easy.
There are loads of spots to target: from small marginal bowls to large open water bars and plateaus. This is a great swim for both the carp and the cats and one of my favorites. The swim is nicely graveled and massive so no matter how large your bivvy, you’ll have loads of space. The trees provide some shade during the warmer weather.
Couples on their French fishing holiday at Beausoleil
Nik and Jo
For Nik and Jo, there’s so much more to Beausoleil than just fishing. It’s only on holiday that Jo gets the time to relax away from everyday life and she always makes the most of it. Nik is a very accomplished angler and his approach is absolutely rock solid. He’s always done well here but had a dream session on his last visit banking 15 carp between 30lbs and 39lbs. Days only!

Alex and Loes
Alex and Loes fell in love with the place from day one and they’ve now been 5 times to the venue. Alex is crazy mad for the catfish while Loes prefers to concentrate on the carp. Alex is now the official catfish king of Beausoleil, catching 4 specimens over 100lbs. By setting up camp in the Point swims, they can enjoy the luxury of their cavernous tent!

Ian and Caroline
Ian and Caroline are busy professionals that come here as much to decompress from the stresses of their work as they do to catch fish. They always arrive excited and love the instant “I’m at home” feeling that they get when they arrive at Beausoleil. They have both enjoyed taking our tuition session and caught some of our stunning specimens.
