We are very lucky to welcome a range of carp anglers at Beausoleil: from French veterans who have done 15 trips, couples who want to mix fishing with sightseeing, families with 3 generations of anglers to carpers who are making their very first trip across the channel.
They all have one thing in common: they want to make the most of their time away and have a great fishing holiday. That’s why we do everything we can to make that happen. That’s why it means so much to us when our visitors take the time to write a review and share their Beausoleil experience.

Absolutely fell in love with this place Matt and Ren greeted us with open arms, the facilities are second to none and the fish are stunning. The care they put into Beau really shows.

The most wonderful week
I’ve just spent the most wonderful week at Beausoleil. It was my first fishing trip to France, and I couldn’t be more delighted. A beautiful tranquil setting in total privacy, a truly soothing environment. The carp and catfish my family caught were beyond our wildest dreams, I even caught my new PB and a new lake record 48lb Mirror Carp. I booked two tuition sessions with Matt, which not only greatly improved my experience and techniques at Beausoleil, but will improve my angling skills for a lifetime. From my first contact with Matt, the whole process was faultless, a 100% success, total professionalism. I couldn’t give this experience a higher mark if I tried. Many thanks to Matt & Ren. I really hope we meet again, thanks very much. David

One of the best fishing experiences ever
One of the best fishing experiences I have ever had in over 20 years, with excellent bankside tuition from Matt. With that tuition I was able to go on and land the lake record cat @118lb and a battle that will stay with me for a long time. The rest of the lads also had some brilliant fishing with all of them smashing their carp PBs and 100lb+ cats being landed! Being a carp angler and set in my ways, I was very sceptical of taking the tuition. In the end I’m so glad I did! We have all learned so much. The lake is stunning and beautifully kept, you can tell by the instant you arrive you have found an absolute gem! Numerous underwater features to fish to which Matt highlighted during our tuition. This also saved us valuable fishing time. The locals in the village are friendly and were very tolerant of my “Del boy” attempts at French. Just be aware that on Sunday nothing is open, the place is a ghost town! The lads and I can’t wait to come back, I can’t recommend Beausoleil or the tuition enough. The results speak for themselves.

A first class venue
I returned to carp fishing about four years ago and thought it would be a great idea to book a trip to France, not realising just how little I knew of carp fishing. Both my partner Caroline and I enjoy the peace and relaxation of fishing so both keen on the adventure to France. Little did we know how wonderful Beausoleil would be and that from our first trip in 2016 we would continue to return year on year. On arrival you are greeted by Matt and Ren who take so much time to introduce you to everything on this self contained site. The cabin is of the highest class, comfortable and has all amenities you need for your stay. The lake is pristine, so well looked after and it’s clear that the entire site is a labour of love to the owners. Their dedication to ensuring you have an amazing stay is creditable with their support in learning the lake and learning how to fish for the amazing specimens at Beausoleil. This year we couldn’t make it and had planned two weeks, but will be returning for two weeks next year without doubt. A first class venue, fantastic accommodation, impeccable creatures in their lake and a thoroughly recommended experience for anyone who loves their fishing, are serious about learning to fish for large, feisty creatures and want to relax in the French countryside Beausoleil is the venue for you.

A carp fisherman’s paradise
Quite simply a carp fisherman’s paradise. Beautiful surroundings, beautiful fish to go after and superb accommodation all looked after by Matt and Ren who can’t do enough for you. The tuition Matt offers is second to none and will teach even the most experienced angler some new tricks. Will certainly be back in the near future and hopefully many times after that!

Blown away by the experience
We (father and son, Damon and JP) were guests 1-8 June 2019. This was not only our first trip to Beausoleil but also our first fishing trip to France. Firstly, the site, lake and facilities are beautiful. We echo feedback from other guests that we feel there are no improvements that could be made! The hosts, Matt and Ren, could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. They can also be justly proud of their little piece of heaven that they share with the likes of us! Secondly, we booked this trip as a simple, relaxing, fishing holiday. But what we got was an angling experience that neither of us could ever have dreamed of! Our best decision of the week by far, as first time guests at Beausoleil, was to invest in the onsite tuition with Matt. As we soon found, the Beausoleil carp are very special indeed when it comes to dealing with rigs and without Matt’s tuition we would not only have struggled to find the right spots to target but we would also not have converted as many pick-ups into hooked fish. It was a week of many firsts and PBs for us both and with an epic story behind many of the captures which Matt has beautifully summed up in the catch report. We can’t thank you enough, Matt and Ren! We are both still completely blown away by the experience and will honestly never forget this week!! Oh, and of course, we will be back if you will have us!

An amazing venue
Wow…. What an amazing place! An amazing little venue with so much beauty. 4 of us fishing and 5 fish taken for myself, PB after PB. All I would say is if you are going to this venue please listen to the advice given as this definitely means you’re 50% there already in getting a fish in the net. Great looking fish too. 100% recommend this to anyone wanting a great week away fishing.

I was in carping heaven
Well, where do I begin…Having travelled to France for the last 15 years now, from the very vast waters like chanty to little 1 acre lakes, the wife and I (Gill) chose Beausoleil, known to me as Beau. On entering the gates at the lake, we were greeted with the stunning view of the awesome lake and accommodation, Matt and Ren there to greet us. Having talked to Matt for less than 5 mins, I knew that I was talking to a very knowledgeable angler and was in no doubt that if I needed any help at all then I was in great hands. Shown around the lake whilst Ren showed Gill around the accommodation. The lake has so many appealing places to fish, close in banks are my favourite, so I was in carping heaven. It was going to be at first the narrow channel at the back of the island that would hook me so to speak. Having watched feeding carp close in, I decided to feed them in 3 different areas in this channel. I fed them for 24 hours (by the way I never fish nights) so I then decided to see if I could find some fish, fish just 2 rods in this channel leaving a 3rd as a back up. Well after about an hour, a fish was in the net approx 26lb, nice start. So rod back out to the spare baited up spot, and a fish again, 28lb if I remember. So that was my attack for the first 4 days, catching plenty of fish from mid 20’s to Dink at 35:10 if memory serves. Caught Dink on day 5, saw it on snake bank margin whilst on a recon, so I fed it for about 4 hours hours little and often, then I moved swims to get a better angle, dropped a bait in the gap where it had been feeding via my bait boat and approx 20 mins later on and in the net. Followed 1 hour later by a upper 20 common, again all my fish during the day no nights. And something I did everyday was to take Gill out for dinner, then return, then we would play pool for an hour, yes, a great table Matt has here. Accommodation is excellent. I love the place and booked again. Matt and Ren lovely people and great company, we went out for a meal with them and hope to again. Anyone that reads this please visit this venue, and to all anglers tight lines x
