Good fishing with carp to 52lbs along with multiple 40s and 30s.
At the start of the month we welcomed back Jules, Rick & Andy to the venue for their 6th visit! Beausoleil has definitely taken them on a journey over these trips and they’ve had both productive and slow sessions. This time we were hoping for a good one This would be their 2nd visit to us this year as they absolutely love the place. This time Rick was the designated driver and following a very long trip he had to go to bed early on Saturday night so missed out on the first night action.

Jules and Andy both caught on the first night which is always great to see. It’s been five years since they did the tuition with me and they’d drifted a bit away from the original playbook. The guys were really keen for my input so we made a few tweaks, set a rod and within 30 minutes, Andy was cradling a chunk of a mirror. Oh I do love my job 😂

The guys didn’t waste any time implementing the new plan and they went on to have a great session. Their target for this trip was for one of them to bag a 40 which somehow hadn’t happened yet. Andy was the first one to achieve that target and then Jules smashed it out of the park with a 50! It was wonderful to see.

They also caught their biggest ever haul of carp with 18 specimens! Unfortunately, Rick was feeling under the weather from the start and it took him a few days to shake that off. Thankfully he still managed a couple of nice carp to finish including a mid thirty. The line between success and failure here continues to be ultra thin. This session was a nice little reminder that even if you’ve visited the place multiple times, this lake can still provide some challenges!

The following week, we welcomed Dave and his family who wanted a family holiday with a little fishing here and there. This was going to be very different to the type of fishing Dave knows and the combination of a little bit of me and a little bit of Dave worked very well. His first carp was a 30lb mirror which beat his previous PB by some margin. He then jumped up to the next weight category with a big old 40! He only used one rod and fished at closed range in the margins to where he’d seen fish move. It was carp fishing at its simplest. The family enjoyed many trips out to the surrounding area including the local market and lovely towns in the area.
