Fishing report: Second half of August

Some more amazing summer carp & cat fishing ☀️

To start with, we welcomed Michael & Jean for their 4th visit to us. Michael did the tuition with me in 2022 so he knew exactly what he needed to do to be successful. For Michael and Jean, a holiday at Beausoleil is very much holiday first, fishing second.

In total Michael logged just 26 rod hours in a week, compare that to the maximum that one angler could log in a week which is 430 rod hours, that was not a lot of time on the bank. But even with very little time behind the rods he still had a very successful session and caught carp every day.

Michael’s secret is good prep and that makes all the difference in the world. By my reckoning Micahel probably spends nearly as much time prepping rigs as he does fishing. Michael and Jean had a great holiday with us, they actually rated it at the best they’ve had which is great to hear. 

Thank you for all your help this week, we’ve had such an amazing time. You have an amazing place here and beautiful fish, it really is a credit to both you and Ren. 

Next up we welcomed father and son team, Simon and Jack, on their first trip to France. I gave them a hand to get them started and although multi rigs and hook changing was a whole new approach to them, they were happy to apply the method that I showed them and it worked great. 

In the end they had a super successful trip. By far their most successful fishing trip ever. They fished the days and were doing so well they decided not to do the nights. They also didn’t fancy hooking a big catfish at night (I don’t blame them either!).

It wasn’t just the fishing either, they just loved being here in the atmosphere and the peace of the place. It was great to meet them and hope that we get the chance to see them again one day.
