When I first started fishing 40 years ago, the river was all I knew. I grew up just a few miles from Tewkesbury where the rivers Avon and the Severn meet and began fishing at the age of 5 from my dad’s old boat. It took me years to catch anything bigger than a 1lb of course! I’m back fishing the river now, but this time it’s for carp. I have been chasing them on my local river, the Mayenne, for a number of years now and I absolutely love it. It has brought a whole new dimension to my carp fishing and to my mind it really is the most exciting form of our sport. Here are some of my adventures.
