A great fishing holiday for Iain, his family and friends but more carp and catfish could have been landed!
This week we welcomed another new group to the venue that had travelled all the way from Yorkshire! Now that August is here we saw a nice rise in the number of carp landed this week and the cats were still active too. The lads had a great week’s fishing but it could have been a lot better! Again inferior quality mainline was the root cause of multiple losses for one angler and a trip to the local tackle shop was required to re-spool the rods. Nothing I can say can prepare you for the power of our catfish, but trust me when I say that you and your gear will be tested to the max! This week’s group are seasoned French anglers but the guys were blown away by their strength, speed and cunning and our cats got the better of them on many occasions! Lee ended up top rod for the week and landed the three largest carp of the session at 38, 35, 32lbs respectively. He also caught the largest catfish of the week at 58lbs and the larger sturgeon twice! It was great to meet them and we hope to see them again in the future. There’s certainly some unfinished business for them here!
