A relaxing week away at our carp fishing paradise for a husband and wife team.
This week we welcomed back Peter & Janet who first visited us last year. They absolutely loved their first visit to us despite the hard fishing so it was great to welcome them back to the venue.
For them, Beausoleil is the perfect place to get away from the world and enjoy some quality R&R away from normal life. Peter fished every day but only did the days. They didn’t even bother to set the Titan up this time as it was dry all week.
After taking the tuition last year, Peter was well prepared to make the most of his week and banked two lovely carp this time. Both of which were in immaculate condition. Nowadays, he just weighs them, and takes a quick snap in the cradle before releasing them.
Peter also caught one large catfish of 68lbs that gave an epic account of itself. Even at that size they are a serious handful. Nowadays we have multiple three figure specimens and banking one of those is a serious angling achievement! A few kittens also came out this week. We do net every two years to keep on top of them but it’s inevitable that some are going to get caught.
Peter had an unfortunate encounter with one of our massive catfish early on in the week. He made a cast, hit the clip and before he knew what had hit him the fish was off on an unstoppable charge. As he was fishing clipped up he never managed to take the line out of the clip and the inevitable mainline failure occurred. I’ve had this happen to me as well and there’s not a lot you can do in these situations.
It was absolutely lovely to meet Peter & Janet again and to see them enjoy the place so much. We hope they get the chance to come back and visit us next year.
