A fantastic carp fishing holiday for some new clients from the Netherlands who caught some great carp and big catfish!
We only get one or two groups of Dutch clients each year but always look forward to welcoming them as they are mad for their carp fishing and very happy with it! This week’s group included two lady carp anglers which is great to see. Carp fishing has quite a macho reputation but once you’ve mastered the technical elements it’s a battle of the mind between carp and angler be they male or female. I’m very happy to see that more girls are getting involved with the sport. Both ladies caught and in fact Kim caught her very first carp at Beausoleil and even out fished her husband Kevin! Things do get very physical with the catfish and it was party leader Alex who needed to apply all his strength when doing battle with them. Alex banked himself a brace of seventies but was smashed a number of times by much bigger cats. Nothing prepares you for the power of a big catfish but considering it was the first time he’d fished for them, he did very well. They all had a fantastic holiday and were eagerly discussing re-booking halfway through the week which is always great. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
