Fantastic accommodation and great carp fishing make an unforgettable holiday for this family

This week we welcomed another fishing mad family to our small slice of French carp fishing heaven. The group, as is often the case, was a mix of experienced and novice anglers. Ian and Dean have fished in France a number of times and were very impressed by what we have to offer while Charlie and Tony were filled with the thrill of a first trip to France. Despite the difference in level of difficulty that our water poses for the novice they did alright and learned a lot for the future. The ladies loved the accommodation and were very satisfied with the quality of the facilities. Despite the level of experience of Ian and Dean, they were blown away by the power, speed and cunning of our carp and catfish. I know the group were really kicking themselves about the number of fish lost and next time everyone will come better equipped and better prepared. Although Beausoleil is an innocent, picture perfect looking venue, the fishing can be extremely physical and challenging with epic battles from both the bank and the boat. Your gear will be tested to the max and beyond and I’ve yet to meet a group that visit the venue for the first time that leave without wishing they had bigger rods, bigger reels and stronger line! The guys had an awesome time and have some great tales to tell, some of success and some of failure but mostly of their desire to return next year! Funnily enough they re-booked before they left. It was a pleasure to meet them and we were delighted by the passion and enthusiasm they all showed for the place. We very much look forward to welcoming them next year.

General comments

What a cracking venue with cracking fish, surroundings and lodge. Matt and Irene are lovely people.
I've been carp fishing for 20 years and this has to be one of the most challenging and beautiful lakes I've fished. There's something about the place that just oozes big fish and gets you hooked from the first take. Matt is a very knowledgeable angler, and no matter how much you know, him and this place will open your eyes. Can't wait to get back!
