Seasoned river anglers take on the challenge of catching big carp and catfish from our 4 acre French carp fishing venue.
This week we welcomed the Horton family to our little piece of carp fishing heaven. While the boys enjoyed the challenges of chasing fine specimen fish, the ladies loved our top class accommodation (their words) and daily visits to the various beautiful French towns, villages and markets that are just a short drive away. Tony & Jon described themselves as coarse anglers but, with a little guidance from yours truly, managed to winkle out some very fine specimens indeed! Jon landed the massive grass carp at 38lbs and not to be out done Tony landed himself Pepe at a new lake record weight of 38lbs! Jon came very close to landing every species. He caught grass carp, mirror carp, common carp, and the sturgeon and really wanted to bag himself a massive moggie. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be this time around and despite hooking a few, none were landed. I know that Jon’s very keen to return to redress this balance and now better understands the class of gear required to dance toe to toe with these beasts! It was great to meet them and we look forward to welcoming them back one day.
